Make RPG Maker Free

The game making world was moved when a certain Don Miguel translated ASCII’s RPG Maker 2000, and distributed it over the internet. Rm2k is now one of the most well known game makers with a huge community of people creating interesting and fun games for each other to play. Since then, other RPG makers have been released, but none match the power and ease of use that Rm2k has.

Then a few months ago, ASCII said that this distribution of Rm2k has been illegal, and they won’t translate the brand-new, heavily anticipated RPG Maker 2003. With brand new features, this maker was to rock the RPG Making universe. But ASCII wants people to pay for this new maker.


:: WHY THEY SHOULD MAKE Rm2k & Rm2k3 FREEWARE ::

Rm2k was distributed through the internet and therefore was free, although I doubt people would have actually gone out to the shops and bought it. Making it freeware would be one of the greatest things they could have done. There are so many freeware makers out there, people can just as easily use another one and forget about Rm2k3. There are many new point-and-click RPG makers in development. Making Rm2k3 free would encourage more people to use it and would make it an extremely popular maker.

So please, sign this petition and we can tell ASCII to make Rm2k3 freeware. Signing this petition will make the RPG Maker universe a better place to be.
