Rise of the Triad Client-Server Port |
To: coders and ROTT playersA game that not many may know of but that few love and remember for its thrills and revolutionary features is Apogee Software’s Rise of the Triad, a first-person-shooter that was first released in 1994 as shareware.
Although Rise of the Triad can easily be played today with DOSBox, a top-notch DOS emulator, one of its most revered features, the multiplayer mode, which was the first ever to support up to eleven players at once, cannot be enjoyed quite as much as it once was back then. A stable client-server port has yet to be made, and we, the undersigners, ask for somebody to finally step up and make one that not only provides players with the ability to play ROTT online as if it were any modern game that is played through client-server architecture, but a port that also preserves the original game’s behavior and features, allowing players to enjoy Rise of the Triad’s essence.Sincerely,
