NOTICE OF PETITION TO SAVE OUR TRAIN

We, the undersigned, request you reconsider the decision to discontinue the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad route to Frostburg.

We feel the loss of the train to Frostburg would be a major historical setback to the area at a time when we should be striving to keep our history intact. The railroad was instrumental in making this area what it is today, and to discontinue this route, which many feel is the most picturesque part of the journey, would be an error.

We feel the expenses incurred in making the route accessible to both bicycles and trains will be recovered through increased tourism trade for the entire area, and request an amicable solution be found so we can enjoy both our train as well as the new trail.
