To:  Administration of Woodeaton Manor

To the administration of Woodeaton Manor,
We, as a student body, believe that the restrictions placed upon our viewing pleasure by Websense Corporation are excessive and unnecessary.
While it is acceptable to block items of pornographic, questionable legality and socially dangerous content, we do not believe that a blanket ban is necessary.
During the free time that we spend using the internet facilities, we can view roughly 6% of the entire internet (Yes, I have calculated this statistic), so our 'free time' is not free at all.
While a considerable portion of the internet does hold pornographic, questionable legality and socially dangerous content, a substantially larger percentage houses benign, safe content. Some of the restrictions placed upon us even interfere with our curricular activities; as such, the teaching body sometimes requires content that Websense misconstrues as offensive, pornographic or otherwise prohibited content.
We, the undersigned, hereby request that some of the restrictions placed upon us (notably, the website 'Youtube') are repealed. Because as long as the internet exists, there will be people to soil it's legality, and placing a blanket ban is ineffective.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
