This is a petition aimed at the Japanese Developer Irem and Console manufacturers Sony Japan. Its aim of this petition is to get the above named parties to release a compilation of titles based on the R-Type line of games published previously on various systems including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the Sony PlayStation and the Sony PlayStation 2. This release would be developed and launched on the Sony PlayStation Portable.

The Compilation would include;
R-type
R-Type II
R-Type III "The Third Lightning"
R-Type Delta
R-Type Final

These games display the game play style that is perfectly suited to a handheld console such as the Sony PlayStation Portable. The quick play and level succession coupled with the easy learning curve make it a perfect companion for quick plays at work, or long journeys on the train.

This petition aims to give Sony and Irem an idea of the kind of audience and number of people who would be interested in buying this compilation if it were launched for the sony handheld system. Or to, at least give Sony and Irem the initial idea to embark on such a project knowing that there is support and an audience for the game to play to.

Signatures can be added to with the fact that they already own R-Type games, showing brand loyalty (an idea close to th heart of Sony) and and option to show the interest of the signed party in purchasing the game if it were to be published and released on their native soil or foreign shores.

I have myself enjoyed a fruitful relationship with the R-Type series, and, even though I have not played the latest two installments plan to play the games far into the future, the compilation will not only allow myself and others to re-live the nostalgia of past releases and revel in the newer releases like R-Type Delta and R-Type Final, but also give a new audience a chance to play these games and enjoy their game play and rewards for themselves.
