Save Gloucester High School From Closing

To:  The Accommodation Review Committee (ARC)

We, the Undersigned, wish to demonstrate our support of Gloucester High School (GHS) to which we are alumni. We understand that GHS is one of three schools for consideration of closure by the Accommodation Review Committee, in order to meet requests and objectives of the Ottawa East Accommodation Study.

We, the Undersigned, believe that GHS should NOT be considered for closure, for the reasons mentioned below.

We believe that GHS is more than an academic institution, but is also a community of exceptional students, staff, and volunteers. This community produces contributing and responsible people who continue to strive for excellence, whether it’s in academics, sport, the arts, events, or politics.


Specifically, we believe that the community of GHS has:

- Created influential and memorable experiences and memories
- Dedicated time and effort to help the less fortunate
- Produced international success and excellence
- Encouraged confidence in creativity
- Contributed to pivotal programs developing youth leadership in Ontario


We, the Undersigned, ask that you reflect on this petition, and consider that the alumni of GHS have excelled and continue to excel in various fields. We believe that the school must remain open in order to continue to produce more inspired individuals and carry on the tradition of encouraging excellence.
