Opposition to Extension of 84th Avenue through Bear Creek Park

Mayor and Council, City of Surrey:
This petition demonstrates our opposition to the proposed extension of 84th Avenue through Bear Creek Park. As citizens from Surrey and surrounding communities, we are deeply concerned with the detrimental environmental and neighborhood impacts this road expansion will cause. The road will destroy the ambiance and environment of the Park with increased traffic and noise. In addition, there are numerous associated safety concerns as well with regards to park users, school children and wildlife. We request that Mayor and Council ensure that Bear Creek Park is protected now and for the enjoyment of future citizens by removing the road right of way and that this land & City owned land south of the park be dedicated as parkland.
