Palm has annonced they are acquiring Be, the creator of the BeOS operating system.

There are thousands of active developers and users who have invested a lot of time and money in this platform.

We all love BeOS. It's maybe the best operating system at the time. We don't want out BEloved operating system to die.

We want Palm to continue the support for BeOS (or whatever it's called in the future) as a desktop operating system. We want Palm to continue the developement of BeOS so we in the near future can get Bone, accelerated OpenGL, among others. We want Palm to use it well known brand to establish a living, growing platform for the future.
