SAVE THE CD SINGLE |
To: Music retailers and record companies. The production of the CD single as a means for artists to release there music is in decline.
Record labels are increasingly choosing to release singles on internet downloads only which is killing the CD single.
We believe that this change in the way music is released is due to retailers not stocking product initially and consumers 'resorting' to downloads because of lack of product on the high street.
We believe that there is still a huge demand for physical singles in the marketplace, and urge retailers to consider again there place in the demise of the CD single.
We also would like record companies to consider the fans of the artists who they represent and realise that the CD single is still a very valid media for artists and the general public alike.
We urge you to SAVE THE CD SINGLESincerely,
