Act Now ! to STOP Cow slaughter !

Dear Sir,

In 1995, The Animal Preservation (amendment) Bill was sent to the Central Govt. by the state assembly for the signature of the President.
Kindly try to get the bill signed by him at the earliest and urgently frame a law so that the slaughter of Cows and Bulls in Maharashtra is stopped, completely.
This will strengthen the rural economy, which centers around the cows and bulls consequently will also stop the suicides of the farmers in Maharashtra.

Cow is Lord Krishna's eternal friend, our mother and the center of rural Indian economy. The Holy Cow is being treated no better than the helpless chicken or a goat.
Thousands of bulls, cows and calves are brutally slaughtered everyday in this sacred land of India and on some occasions the numbers are in Lakhs.Maharashtra is no exception, where in Mumbai alone over a thousand are legally or illegally slaughtered everyday, which includes strong and healthy ones also.
Their incessant cries and screams displaying the intolerable pain, neglected by man-made laws, demands justice from the civilized human society that currently treats them no better than commodities. They are sent to be legally slaughtered once they are old and useless as per current parameters of the authorities.

Even on the economic front in a country, where more than 70% of the population's living directly or indirectly depends on the cows, its killing means a killing of the rural economy on which the national economy significantly depends. Let apart the milk, the cow's urine & dung are also widely recognized to be possessing extraordinary medicinal properties, helpful in curing most fatal diseases also. It is believed that if properly canalized the dung may produce more than required amount of fuel energy for the entire country.
It is beyond doubts(as mentioned in holy scriptures) that the cows and bulls if looked after and kept happy would make the entire surrounding and the world, similarly joyful & happy.

Therefore in your own interest, take strong an sustained steps urgently to protect this unique gift of God that eats just grass and gives us the invaluable Milk, Cow-Dung & Urine.
