Save the Hockey Night in Canada Theme

The license to use the Hockey Night in Canada theme song is not being renewed by the CBC. This will bring to an end 40 years of tradition, and silence an iconic tune that means something to almost every Canadian who has ever watched a hockey game. I grew up listening to it, and the thought of my son (to be born in Sept) not hearing in when he watches his first HNIC broadcast with me in October is saddening. I have visions of him relating to that song the same way I did (and still do), possibly convincing his future bride that it should be the song for their first dance at their wedding, and someday listening to it with his kids. Apparently negotiations are taking place, but while people in pinstripes debate dollars and royalties, we the hockey loving huddled masses must use our voices to guide them.







I don’t know what the magic number of signatures is for this petition, but when we get there I want to send it to the people in charge of this decision, and right this heinous wrong.
