Adam and Eve Sex Shop in SW Durham -- Just Say No

We, the residents of the communities of Southwest Durham, are disturbed at the proposed move of the adult retail outlet, "Adam and Eve," from a commercial environment to our family-oriented community. We feel that this is an assault upon our family values and a depreciation of our property values.

The site of this sex shop will be located in the highly visible and traveled crossroads of Fayetteville Rd. and Hwy. 54. As such it will mark the gateway to Woodcroft, Woodlake, Hope Valley Farms, Wellington Forest, Fairfield, Chancellor’s Ridge, and many other family-oriented Communities.

We know that the presence of a sexual oriented business does not respect the character of the neighborhood and often attracts a non-law abiding element.

We ask that “Adam and Eve” be asked to situate themselves in a commercial environment, like the one from which they are moving, and not infiltrate our family communities with their value system.
