Anti-Homophobic Religious Activities |
Thank you, everybody, for your support in this cause. The petition, as well as to the signatures, will be sent to "Love In Action" shortly. Hopefully something can be done about this organization. Please, keep up the good work. If needed, I can be contacted at drug.against.war@gmail.com
To: The Christian ChurchWe, The Undersigned, hereby request that Zach (no last name found), a 16 year old man from Bartlett, Tennessee, be removed from the homophobic Christian camp dedicated to anti-gay behavior.
Zach is an openly gay young man. His parents are sending him away to a camp run by Christians (who obviously do NOT preach tolerance nor understanding) to try and rid him of his gay lifestyle. This camp is called "Love In Action" (ironic), and is dedicated to:
"...help men and women live sexually & relationally pure lives and chemically dependent free lives through Jesus Christ."
In other words, they will use religion to brainwash (much like a cult does) people who are "sexually impure" to lead "healty" lives. Though, one would expect somebody who is openly gay to live a healthier life being gay like he normally is. But sadly, that's not the case with "Love In Action".
This organization also prohibits individuality. Members must all follow very strict rules regarding dress code, hygeine, as well as what brand of clothes you can and cannot wear. Members are not allowed to wear brands of clothes such as:
"The clients may not wear Abercrombie and Fitch or Calvin Klein brand clothing, undergarments, or accessories."
This organization also promotes suicide, as shown here by a quote by the director of "Love In Action", Rev. John Smid:
"I would rather you commit suicide than have you leave Love In Action wanting to return to the gay lifestyle. In a physical death you could still have a spiritual resurrection; whereas, returning to homosexuality you are yielding yourself to a spiritual death from which there is no recovery."
So, not only does this organization promote brainwash, homophobia, but suicide as well.
The entire list of rules this organization sets can be found on Zach's blog, located here:

If you have any sympathy for this young man, or humanity in general, please sign this petition. Being forced to take part in something you strongly do not believe in is wrong, no matter how you look at it.
Thank you.Sincerely,
