We, the undersigned, are horrified to learn of the brutal acts of sexual violence that continue to plague our nation's military institutions after more than a decade of costly investigations and failed reforms.

Further, we are deeply concerned that the investigations currently underway are focused more on protecting the military's image than on protecting the victims of these horrific assaults.

We demand a thorough, unbiased, professional investigation guided by consultation with the full range of experts in the field of sexual violence.

We also demand that the panel grant victims who testify privacy, confidentiality, amnesty and safety so that they can testify openly, without fear of reprisal from assailants, peers or military authorities.

Last, we demand that victims be provided with appropriate support to minimize their trauma before, during and after testimony.

Thank you for your prompt attention to these critical concerns. It's time to restore honor and dignity to the U.S. military and long past time to protect and defend the women who choose to serve
