Nomination of Shatha Hassoun to position of United Nations Good Will Ambassador

Shatha Hassoun is not simply a musical talent that represents Iraq but an exceptionally amazing phenomenon that embodies the nation, culture, people and aspirations of Iraq.

Shatha is a phenomenon that, through her exhibited excellence, brings pride to the hearts of every Iraqi with every word she sings – we, the undersigned; place her high on the pedestal of appreciation.

Exposing this positive image of excellence is even more imperative today where the people of Iraq are living under extreme conditions, highlighted by bloody violence and mayhem on a daily basis. A people who live between the tunes of the stomping boots of an occupation and the music of daily murderous explosions by sectarian resistance; the resistance the has done nothing but resist the existence of the Iraqi people.

Our precious Shatha has managed to successfully portray an Iraqi message of purity and strength, a message to each and every single human in our sad world – a message that carries with it the voice of seven million voters from inside Iraq who saw no division when throwing their full weight behind supporting Shatha. They did not see a Shia, Sunni, Kurdish, Christian, Assyrian, Chaldanean, Turkomen, Armenian, Yazidi or even Subbi, they supported an Iraqi that encapsulates the beauty of Iraq that they hold within their hearts dearly themselves.

Each one of Shatha’s 7,000,000 voters within Iraq are nothing but a strong and loud cry to be heard throughout the heavens; a cry to institute precious freedom for each and every Iraqi of the 25,000,000 Iraqis, including Shatha herself. These are the same Iraqis whose lives were used and abused by despotic regimes, used as an experimentation in the field of digging mass graves, ethnic cleansing through mass starvation, bullets, chemical weapons and bombs.

We, the undersigned, believe that bestowing such an honour upon Shatha would simply mean the United Nations confirms and acknowledges the legitimate aspirations held by the millions of Iraqi people that want nothing more than achieving stability, peace and security in their land.

We, the undersigned, nominate Shatha to the position of Good Will Ambassador as Shatha’s success is not only limited to musical success, it is a success that carries the voice of an Iraqi people with their relentless yet unheard calls for security, stability, prosperity, progress and justice.

We, the undersigned, would like to highlight the mere magnitude of votes Shatha received; an amount of votes that would constitute a huge majority in any true Iraqi democracy.

We, the undersigned, are certain that Shatha Hassoun is worthy of becoming the ambassador of the Iraqi voice, Iraqi art, Iraqi music, Iraqi culture and Iraqi strong will.

ليست مغالاة مني لو قلتْ إنَّ شذى حسون ليست بمطربة عراقية فحسب إنما هي ظاهرة متميزة يتوجب الوقوف عندها وإبرازها بما يليق بها من مقام وموقع عالٍ خاصة في ظل الظرف العراقي الحالي حيث يعيش الشعب العراقي يومه على نغمات بساطيل جنود الإحتلال وموسيقى أنفجارات المقاومة البعثية التي ما أنفكت – تناضل- من أجل تصفية الشعب العراقي وليس المحتلين.

شذى حسون ، شقت طريقها الوعرعابرة خنادق العنف اليومي الإصولي ، وساحات القتل الدامية ، لتنجح في إيصال رسالة عراقية صميمية إلى كل إنسان في عالمنا الردئ ، رسالة حملت فيها سبعة ملايين صوتاً منادياً بإحقاق الحق وإزهاق الباطل المظلم الذي خيم على بلدها منذ سنوات وعقود. إن نجاح شذى لم يكن نجاحاً في مسابقة فنية غنائية فحسب أنما جاء نجاحاً لصوت العراقيين ونداءاتهم المبحوحة من أجل الأمان ، والإستقرار ، والبناء ، والحداثة ، والعدالة.

لشذى صوت رخيم ، صنعته قوة الإرادة والإصرار الوطني على النجاح رغماً عن كل أنواع التسلط والتخلف والإسفاف الطائفي الذي حل بوطنها العراق.

ليس لدي علمٌ عن المقومات والشروط التي تعتمدها المنظمة العالمية وتشكيلاتها الإدارية عند أختيار سفراء النوايا الحسنة ، لكنني متأكد من أن شذى حسون ، جديرة لأن تكون سفيرة الكلمة العراقية ، والنغم العراقي ، والفن العراقي ، والإرادة العراقية ، هذه الإنسة ، تستحق أن تنال لقب – سفيرة النوايا الحسنة - ، لما حققته من إنجاز عبرت من خلاله ومن خلال الأصوات التي نالتها عن طموحات أكثرمن سبعة ملايين عراقي صرخوا بإسمها عبر سماءات وفضاءات فسيحة منادين ومطالبين بإحقاق الحرية لهم ليس من أجل شذى فقط بل من أجل أكثر من خمسة وعشرين مليوناً من البشر الذين اتخذت منهم أنظمة التعسف ودبابات الإحتلال ، مختبرا لتجارب الدفن الجماعي وتحديد النسل بواسطة التجويع المتعمد حينا ، والرصاص حينا آخر ، والسيارات المفخخة أحيانا أخرى .

لا أشك مطلقاً في أحقيقة الفنان الكبير عادل إمام ، ولا حسين فهمي ولا صفية العمري ولا دريد لحام ، لحمل اللقب ، لكن مقارنة بسيطة بينهم وبين الفنانة العراقية الكبيرة شذى حسون تؤكد أن النجاح المتميز والتفوق غير المتوقع يعني أن للفنانة الحسناء من المقومات ما يكفي لأن تنال هذا المنصب الفخري ، فمنحها أياه يعني ببساطة إقرارالمنظمة العالمية للحقوق المشروعة للعراقيين في تحقيق السلم والأمان وألإستقرار في بلدهم المتعب.

لم يحصل الإستفتاء المصري الأخير الخاص بتعديلات الدستور على مثل هذه العدد من الأصوات إذا ما قارنا عدد نفوس العراق بعدد نفوس الشعب المصري ، ناهيكم أن سبعة ملايين صوت عراقي يمكن أن يغير نظاماً كاملاً فيما لو توفرت في بلدهم ديمقراطية حقيقية.

هنئوا معي ، فنانة العراق الكبيرة شذى حسون وتمنوا لشعبنا الجريح المزيد من النجاحات الفردية – على الأقل.
