Whereas We the Undersigned feel a gap currently exists in modern English language dictionaries in identifying the genre of short, humourous prose or verse; and,
Whereas We find abbreviations just so darn handy;
We hereby petition the Canadian Oxford Dictionary specifically, and all English language dictionaries generally, to make the following addition:
ShoHu, shohu, sho-hu, (sho'hoo'); n. informal; short humour [sho(rt) + hu(mour)]
1. A short piece of humourous prose or verse
2. The category or genre of literature comprising works of this kind
