Stop the dog auction

To:  Tennessee Governor

This petition is to protest the auctioning of the animals seized in the case of the Franklin dog breeder, Jennifer Siliski. Siliski was found guilty on 11 counts and Judge R.E. Lee Davies ordered the animals seized be sold off at public auction. That auction will be held at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin on October 16th, 2004.

I do not think that auctioning these animals is in the best interest of the animals, nor the families that have cared for them during the two month trial. In the sentencing phase, Judge R.E. Lee Davies stated that it would be cruel to Siliski's children to take their pets away, so he allowed one dog per child to stay in Siliski's care. What about the children and families that have cared for these horribly abused animals for two months? Why should he have sympathy for a convicted animal abuser but fail to consider the feelings of the families that took these animals in and DID provide proper care for them?

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
