Skype for AMD64 |
To: SkypeWe, the undersigned petition the makers of Skype to either create a native 64bit port of their software or to open their source code to the community of highly qualified open source developers. Too many people have wasted too much time struggling to get the 32bit client to run on their 64bit Linux operating system.
Thousands of poorly funded open source projects have demonstrated that compiling for the amd64 architecture is a trivial task. A task that a multi billion dollar company has yet failed to achieve thereby recreating the infamous DLL hell on Linux and forcing it's paying customers through it.Sincerely,
