Petition to Halt Excess Taxation on Tobacco

To:  Smokers who are tired of taxes!

Hi,

I don't know if you're like me or not, but I enjoy smoking. I am tired of having to pay taxes on cigarettes which benefits the entire state population as well as the national population (through utilization of the revenue from cigarette taxes that smokers pay for such things as roads, parks, balancing
state budgets, etc). These are things that represent the interests of the population majority, not minority. Smokers are indeed a minority, with only
about 25% of the adult population being smokers. It is not fair that others get a free ride from our hard earned dollars. Quite frankly, I'm fed up
with it. I don't mind paying the tax if it was reasonably set. However, it has become an excessive amount by the time the MSA payments and state/local taxation is factored in.

If you are as fed up as I am and are a legal adult, please sign this petition. I will be compiling a list and after 15,000,000 signatures of US adult smokers I will be sending this to each state's representatives as well as US Senate and House of Representatives. I want these politicians to know there are names attached to these taxes and along with these names votes which could ultimately decide their future political careers.
