Confederate-Americans are not terrorists.

To:  United States Congress

Dear members of the United States Congress,
We the signers do plead with you to protect the rights of those individuals with Southern/Confederate lineage. We who present this petition do ask that are rights be equally protected just as the rights of Muslims are protected. In these times of tragedy, Muslims have been targeted for supporting terrorism just because they are apart of that religion. Confederate-Americans too have been targeted for condoning terrorism just by the fact that our ancestors fought for their independence over 130 years ago.

We have great sympathy for those who lost their lives in the attacks, and we also feel unexcusable violence is not right. But we too have been attacked as being supporters of terrorism. This is nothing but an apparent attack on Confederate Americans to undermine our rights to honor our heritage.

We ask that you will protect our rights just as you would any other group. We have never supported terrorism in our time, and never will. Let us keep America great by keeping ALL rights intact.
