As you are well aware, your hit show The Big Bang Theory premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007. You placed the show's setting in Pasadena, California and revolve the plot around five characters: two geniuses roommates, Leonard Hofstadter (an expiramental physicist) and Sheldon Cooper (a theoretical physicist), their neighbor Penny and their co-workers Howard Wolowitz (an engineer) and Rajesh Koothrappali (astrophysicist).

It is clear from the pilot that you, the creators and writers, intended for there to be tension and future relationship between Leonard and Penny. However, while there is a fair amount of awkwardness, there seems to be a significant lack of chemistry between the two characters and due to this, many fans find themselves more drawn to the sparkling dynamic between the leading female character and the shows adorkable genius, Sheldon.

At Comic Con, fans of the show have expressed (quite loudly) their desire to see this couple happen in canon. This was publically recognized by both Kaley Cuoco (Penny) and Jim Parsons (Sheldon), who spoke aloud to you, Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady (the creators), and announced over the mic "you're getting pitched The Shenny".

Sadly, for us fans, instead of allowing The Shenny to come to fruition, you wrote in a new female character, Amy. And while this character, indeed, is more like Sheldon, there is still the lack of chemistry that only Sheldon and Penny seem to hold.

Therefore, we are seeking to bring more attention to the brilliant dynamic between Sheldon and Penny in the hopes that you will one day bestow upon us fans the remarkable Shenny relationship that we crave.
