Support for Services for Survivors of Torture in Ireland |
To: Irish GovernmentThe UN Convention against Torture, which Ireland ratified in 2002, places a legal obligation on governments to provide survivors of torture with rehabilitation services.
Today, 26th June 2008, is the United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. We ask you to sign this petition urging the Government to fulfil its commitment to victims of torture living in Ireland by providing full funding to SPIRASI. SPIRASI is the only non-governmental organisation in Ireland providing specialist rehabilitation services to survivors of torture.Sincerely,
