To whom it may concern...
We have come to know that the Samurai Shodown series was once one of the most popular fighting game series known to exist. Samurai Shodown 2 proceeded to become one of the most popular fighting games of all time. The Samurai Shodown series has spanned 4 2d fighting games, and a few 3d games, and now, the Samurai Shodown series will be born again with the upcoming Samurai Spirits Zero, known to the states as Samurai Shodown 5.
However, there was one Samurai Shodown that had more to it than any other game in the series, and unlike all the other chapters of Samurai Shodown, this one was in the form of an RPG. Sadly, areas outside of Japan never got to see this game, even though early on the Sega Saturn version was planned for a stateside release, it never happened. The game went on to become one of Japan's all time classics.
Earlier this year, SNK would be reborn in the states in the form of SNK Neo Geo USA Corp. They now have plans in 2004 to bring some of their "classic" games to more modern systems such as the PS1 and PS2, beginning with the KOF 2000/2001 combo pack for PS2 this fall.
Samurai Spirits Zero/Samurai Shodown 5 is now on the horizon, and it looks to reimplicate the popularity that the SS series once was across the world. With SNK USA Corp planning on releasing "classics" across the states in the future, we, the undersigned, look to recieve a stateside English language version of the lost chapter of the Samurai Shodown series, being Samurai Spirits RPG. We were very disappointed when we found out the game would not be released outside of Japan. What better time to release SSRPG in the states when SS5 makes the series popular again, and given its major success as a hit in Japan, it would be a wise business decision to release the game in other regions of the world as well.
So SNK USA Corp, we, the undersigned, wish to see an English language version of Samurai Spirits RPG released in the United States as one of the "classics" that SNK plans to release on the PS1 when they get around to planning it. We want to witness the long lost chapter of the SS series that is currently isolated to Japan only. Knowing a stateside release of SSRPG was already planned at the time of development intensifies our cause. Hear us SNK. Make our long lost dreams become reality, please?
