Opposition to Construction of Elevated Lanes

To:  Elected Officials

Listed here is evidence that concerned stakeholders support the position of Woodcrest Neighborhood Civic Association and Cottage Grove Civic Club in opposing the construction of elevated and continuous feeder (service road) lanes by the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) within the I-10 corridor or right-of-way East of the Washington/Wescott intersection.

We, the undersigned:

(1) Do not want:

1. Elevated feeder lanes and/or service roads near neighborhoods, parks and schools
   
2. Expansion of at-grade feeder roads in the IH-10 corridor inside the 610 loop
   
3. Increase in heavy commercial vehicular traffic using elevated lanes
   
4. Increase in traffic generated noise and air pollution from elevated or main lanes
   

(2) Do support:

1. Below-grade service roads and/or feeder lanes within existing TXDOT right-of-way
   
2. Improved and adequate abatement of noise and air pollution
   
3. Improved and adequate flood water retention and drainage for below-grade lanes
   
4. Preservation of established trees, landscaping and green space in the IH-10 corridor
