No one really knows how much the animals suffer, but now I realize how much they do. I am currently working on a big project on Animal abuse. I am studying at this moment, vivisection. In other words, vivisection is the testing on animals for cosmetics, drugs, household products, and many other everyday products. Vivisection really means "cutting alive".

In 1997, 2,146,448 rats and mice were experimented on in the UK ALONE! It is estimated that over twice that number, that's about 4,000,000 are gassed or decapitated because of routine overbreeding. Just about every animal you can think of is in the animal testing industry . Mice, rats, cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, and monkeys to just say a few are tested upon.
Animal testing is totally unnecessary and the results are more then misleading. How can you say that, for example, a reaction to a certain substance in a dog is going to be the same in a human? They have a totally different body system then us! There are many other ways instead of testing on animals that are even less expensive then the animal testing itself!
Animals are living, breathing creatures just like us, and we have no right to test on them because they are less "superior" then us, which is not true. It is terrible that us humans have such a large ego that we can stoop so low to test on poor voiceless animals. They feel pain and emotions just like us!
The animals are treated very unfairly when in labs. I mean, if you were an animal, would you enjoy being kept in a dirty, stinky, dark cage all day that is so small you can hardly move? Would you enjoy it if you had chemicals being rubbed in your eyes everyday? Or drinking a large amount of poison every week that would make you die in less then 2 hours?
The animals in labs suffer huge mental and physical torture at labs. One monkey suffered such boredom that it ate it's own fingers!!! A puppy once saw another puppy being murdered, and it knew what was going to happen to him too. He gripped the floor and cringed. Another puppy's back was slit from the neck to the groin, exposing its ribcage. It didn't die immediately though, it threw its head back and howled, in immense pain.
Monkeys re turned into drug addicts and alcoholics. They are force-fed sweets for dental research. They are used as victims of car crash tests. They are whacked on the head, often until they die, to reproduce and to determine the extent of brain damage in boxers. And worst of all, they undergo HEAD TRANSPLANTS to 'improve the understanding of diseases of the nervous system'.
About 600 companies currently test their products on animals. Every time you buy a product manufactured by an animal testing company or a product tested on animals, you are paying that company the money needed to test on animals. Not kidding. Your money goes towards the cruel, barbaric, unjustified mass murders that happen behind the huge security gates of that company's research labs every day. What do they need such big security gates for? Because so many people disagree with animal testing. The gates are there to keep out the kind and caring people in this world who do feel for the suffering animals. Just so the lab technicians can keep killing animals without the disturbance of protesters against animal testing. It's obvious that the lab technicians are doing wrong... Vivisection is performed with YOUR money for YOUR 'benefit'. The general public pay for these killings to be carried out. Doctors and scientists have admitted that animal tests are often unreliable and misleading. The truth is...vivisection kills people.
While you were reading this, about 200 laboratory animals have died.
