Stop The Msn Messenger Upgrade |
To: Microsoft CorporationWe the Undersigned state that the mandatory upgrade of Msn Messenger versions 6.2 through 7.5 to the Windows Live Messenger version, be withdrawn!
Reasons of why this action is requested are as followed.
This petition is about the mandatory upgrade of all Msn Messenger versions 6.2 through 7.5, to the Windows Live Messenger.
The reason stated by Security Product Manager 'Anand', is that those versions, have a security breach in them that could be fatal to the users.
Many members, dislike the Windows Live version, and wish to stay with their Msn Messenger versions 6.2 - 7.5 versions. Shouldn't these members be allowed to choose what they want, even if knowing there is a security risk? Allow them to make the decision; do not force it upon them. Many of these members dislike the User Interface of Windows Live Messenger and prefer their Msn Versions User Interfaces.
It seems as Microsoft took only one way in the decision, and that was to make a mandatory upgrade. But they could have chosen alternatives, one being making a Microsoft Windows Update that includes an update to secure this security breach.
If you are against the upgrade, of Msn Messenger version 6.2 through 7.5, to the Windows Live Messenger, please sign this petition and let’s put a stop to this!
Sincerely,
