Stop Retaliating Against the Disabled

To:  Governor Pat Quinn

When Illinois taxpayers revolted against you for trying to rake us over the coals with appallingly huge, crushing tax increases (rather than actually trying to make GOVERNMENT live within ITS means for once, like the rest of us), the idea wasn't to prompt you to punish us in OTHER ways. It was to get you to start making the hard choices about what was really necessary in our state budget.

But instead of demonstrating anything vaguely resembling actual leadership, you instead chose to be petty and simply retaliate, stripping the most helpless and needy among us--the disabled--of any and all funding (in what is already one of the most abysmal states in the country on care for the disabled), while leaving your own exhorbitant union and other special interest schemes fully intact.

This disgustingly corrupt attack on one of the few areas of funding that everyone agrees on will not bludgeon us into submission and get you re-elected. It will only further confirm that you belong nowhere near positions of power and unite this state against you.

We hereby demand that you stop vindictively punishing the disabled and start making some real budget choices.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
