To the Attention of Joe Quesada and the powers that be at Marvel Entertainment's publishing division:





We the undersigned are boycotting Marvel Comic's Premiere Hardcover Format





We appreciate Marvel's duties as a business to provide profit to the company and its shareholders by releasing its comics in multiple formats to satisfy different markets. The Premiere Hardcover format, in some limited instances, has been a welcome addition regarding mini-series that will not receive other treatments, but it has been at the expense of other, more preferred customer formats.





We believe that the current release schedule is a hinderance to new and existing readership by delaying the provision of softcover trade paperback collections and oversized hardcovers past the point of reader interest, often years after initial release.





Marvel also has an obligation to use good and sound business practices when dealing with customers. This includes providing a release schedule as to what titles will be collected and in what format, so that readers can make informed decisions about purchases far enough in advance. The fleecing of existing readers by keeping them uninformed about format releases so as to make them purchase multiple formats is unacceptable, and the delay in softcover trade paperbacks with lower price points only serves to keep new readership away.





As loyal fans and readers, we hope that Marvel will take this petition under advisement in order to maintain our support and business.
