ICRC Fulfill Your Mandate - Palestinian Political Prisoners

Dear Mr. Jakob Kellenberger,

We, the undersigned are extremely concerned by the situation of Palestinian political prisoners inside Israeli prisons and detention centers. Approximately 8000 Palestinians are currently being held as political prisoners by Israel, including around 350 Palestinian children and nearly 100 Palestinian women. Almost all of these prisoners face some form of torture or mistreatment during their arrest and detention.

We ask you to take meaningful action to achieve these measures:

*Effective and public action against Israel’s widespread use of torture against Palestinian detainees.

*Immediately demand that sick and injured prisoners are provided with adequate medical treatment.

*Pressure Israel to allow family visits by Palestinians to their relatives in Israeli jails.
