Dear Simon,

We the undersigned wish to record our opposition to the proposed 2007/08 Crystal Palace FC shirt designs.

The selection of the designs was conducted with no apparent consultation with the fans, which is contrary to the official club policy in the current Club Charter.

We believe that these designs are not in the best commercial interests of the club, as we believe they will be less financially successful to the club as a design which has been chosen and favoured by the fans, as a "voted for" design would achieve more sales.

We believe that an urgent rethink needs to take place before production commences, and a selection of new designs should be put forward to the fans for voting in order that the fans choice can then be used.

Furthermore we propose that at the very least a design featuring the traditional Crystal Palace red and blue "sash" on a white background should be put forward as one of the voting options for the away kit.
