We, the future users of the Apple iPhone, living in Canada, would like to see the following options offered to us before, or shortly after, the release of the iPhone 3G on July 11, 2008:

1. Provide us, the Canadian consumer, with service contracts having total time periods of 2 years or less. Such contract time periods will be comparable to the ones offered by AT&T to its customers. We would also like the option to buy the iPhone 3G for a reasonable, however profitable, fixed price.

2. Provide us, the Canadian consumer, a real “Unlimited” data plan comparable to the one currently being afford by AT&T to its customers. This should be done at a price comparable, but also profitable for Rogers, to the one set by AT&T for its iPhone “Unlimited” data plan.

We, the current and potential future consumers of Canada’s (Rogers’) only GSM based wireless network and services, know that we will be offered the longest iPhone service contract time periods world wide.

There is an on-going, and growing, out-cry today of how unfair and extremely lengthy this 3 year contract term is. This is felt by your current and future customers interested in enjoying Apple’s new iPhone 3G here in Canada. Especially given how outrageously high (compared to nearly all GSM service providers world wide) Roger’s data usage pricings are today.

We believe that Rogers’ continuing failure to hear us, the consumers, is going to negatively affect our current business – consumer relation with Rogers. Especially knowing that later this year the Canadian consumer is going to be introduced to few new GSM service providers. We feel that this is an opportunity which Rogers could fully take advantage of, and strengthen its existing customer-business relationship as well as gain many more.

The options listed in this petition are going to help Rogers sell more iPhone subscriptions, bring more iPhone users online, make the iPhone more consumer-friendly and affordable, and make it easier for Rogers stores to sell iPhones. It will also make it easier for people to switch from Bell/TELUS to Rogers. This benefits Rogers Canada, Rogers stores and representatives, and Rogers customers as a whole.
