Don't Shop The Body Shop for Supporting the PLO

The Body Shop, a personal care products retail chain, gave a quarter of its $300,000 "Human Rights Award 2002" prize money (i.e. $75,000) to a group called The National Committee for the Defence of the Rights of the Internally Displaced (NCDRID), which advocates, among other things, the "right to return" of all "Palestinian refugees" to Israel.

NCDRID was nominated for its award by BADIL, an organization that, among other things, helps promote PLO terrorism (the "Intifada") against Israel.

When you buy from The Body Shop you are helping to promote the PLO and its goals.

CONSEQUENTLY:

We, the undersigned, disapprove of The Body Shop's award to The National Committee for the Defence of the Rights of the Internally Displaced which advocates a "right to return" for all "Palestinian refugees". We consider this group's goals to be synonymous with the PLO attempt to destroy Israel.

We are upset that The Body Shop has used a part of our purchases to reward this group.

We therefore commit that we will not purchase any more products at The Body Shop until The Body Shop

1. Withdraws this award, and disavows a Palestinian "right to return" and the PLO and its goals;

2. Apologizes to the many millions of supporters of Israel worldwide that it has offended;

3. Makes a substantial gift to Israeli victims of PLO terrorism.
