We, the undersigned are concerned for the safety and well being of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.
In 2002 you agreed to look into human rights violations in Tibet, ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
We believe, now more than ever, human rights in Tibet are virtually non-existent.
It is being reported from sources inside Tibet that:
• Novice monks are not allowed to take the place of monks who have died at a temple
• It is being said that monks are not allowed to conduct prayer sessions in temples, nor allowed to invite monks for special prayers at home
• Construction of new stupas is banned.
• Tibetans are being trained to criticize the Dalai Lama
• Tibetan government officials are not allowed to wear Tibetan dress, nor to maintain a prayer room and altar in their house.
We are asking you to truly live up to your word and look into these issues and more in Tibet.Sincerely,
