Equal rights for teenagers in the UK |
To: UK GovernmentThe aim of this petition is to gain rights for all citizens of the UK between the ages of 13 and 18 equal rights to adults.
The reasoning for this is because most (with the exception of some who think it's cool to smoke and throw bottles at people) are more mature then we were 20 years ago. Things have changed since then, and most teens have clear views of what is right and wrong, and what they want to do with their life. Most people know that violence and drugs are wrong, meaning that films with the aforementioned do not influence teenagers as much, if at all, as they used to. Teenagers are also becoming excessively bored with what we have - we have nothing, yet adults have lots - which is why we are demanding equal rights for teenagers. We want the same rights as adults. Parental permission can be given for the heavier stuff, but we are mature enough to be able to make our own minds up now. With proper guidance in early years, we have developed the skill to THINK ON OUR OWN. We don't need our hand holding anymore.Sincerely,
