To:  Tembec Industries

As owners of the paper mill located in Pine Falls, Manitoba, Canada, you have recently announced a decision to stop accepting recycled paper to make your newsprint. You have also made public your intent to strictly use virgin Manitoba trees to make your paper instead of de-inked recycled paper. This decision is astonishingly unsustainable and reflects a blatant disregard for the environment. It also affects local small businesses that are part of the recycling and de-inking process. We contend that your environmental degradation is not acceptable when more sustainable alternatives are available. As conscious consumers and on behalf of the environment, we are outraged and disappointed by Tembec Industries’ unsustainable newsprint decision. We demand that Tembec Industries continues to use recycled paper to make its newsprint and ceases all logging practices in Provincial Parks.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
