We, the undersigned students, faculty, alumni, and friends of Yeshiva University, deeply regret Yeshivas decision to deny tenure to Assistant Professor of Jewish Mysticism and Thought Alan Brill. Dr. Brill, a brilliant scholar of impeccable character and integrity, represents the highest ideals of Torah Umadda and academic excellence that comprise the mainstay of the Yeshiva experience. His departure would constitute an irreplaceable loss, not only for his current students, but for thousands of future students and for the broader Jewish community as well.

We respectfully urge Yeshivas leaders to reconsider their decision.
