Petition to Investigate the Abuse of Prisoners and the Corruption in the Prisons

Our state and federal prisons full of corruption and abuse of the prisoners. Prisoners have been beaten (to death in some cases) by guards and other prisoners on orders from the guards. Prisoners have been sent to maximum security and super-max prisons for minor infractions and fabricated infractions of the rules.

If a prisoner gets on a guards wrong side he may be subject to abuse from that guard and others. If the prisoner complains about the abuse the abuse gets worse.

In prison we have a drug problem. That problem would not exist if the guards did not look the other way or bring the drugs in to the prison.

Many wardens make money through kickbacks and bribes. They are also involved in the abuse.

In many prisons MCI is the only way a prisoner can call home. It cost the person he calls $19.00 for 5 minutes. The families can not afford the cost so many calls are not made. If you look into it I am willing to bet that the prisons and or the wardens get a percentage.

Medical abuse is also a big problem with unqualified doctors and personnel who are abusive and do more harm than good.

Prisons are big business. Money is made from drugs, bribes and kickbacks. The more prisoners in the system mean more money for the officials. Most prisoners will get out someday and many will be bitter and hateful people who will go back to a life of crime. Rehabilitation is a myth because the officials do not want to rehabilitate, they want the prisoners to come back.

An innocent prisoner is hassled if he works on his release. The system does not care. If an innocent man comes up for parole he is denied if he does not admit to his crime. If he is innocent he will not admit to the crime and not get paroled.

Society would benefit if there were good rehabilitation programs and the abuse was stopped. It would be far cheaper to pay for rehabilitation than to pay for the crimes committed by repeat defenders and their return to prison.

If you search the Internet you will see many cases of corruption and prison abuse. The prisons in other countries are condemned for their treatment of prisoner yet in many cases our prisons are as bad if not worse.

There are complaints about how animals are treated in circuses and rodeos. Our prisoners are treated worse.


What do we want?

1. An independent investigation of all complaints of prisoner abuse.
2. An independent investigation of all prison deaths.
3. An independent investigation of the corrupt practices of prison officials
4. An independent investigation of prison medical facilities.
5. Prosecution of prison staff that are involved in the abuse and corruption.
6. Enact laws that will help solve these problems.


Please clean up or prisons so that the public will be safer when the prisoners return to society. The high rate of return tells of that our prisons system is a failure. Most prisoners can be rehabilitated if we stop warehousing prisoners and start rehabilitating and treat them like human beings. The loss of freedom is the worst punishment so why overdo it?
