Taylor Karras for President of The CW

This petition is for the forcing of The CW's current president, Dawn Ostroff and to place Taylor Karras (the author) as the current president. The reasons why Taylor Karras should be president follows.

1. Taylor Karras has much more common sense and actually knows how a TV station should be ran. The CW under it's current president has canceled many shows that the CW needed, shows such as Everwood, Reba, Veronica Mars and Aliens in America. Everwood was canceled for a premature reason at the peak of it's popualrity, which angered many fans. Veronica Mars was canceled when it was getting off of the ground and was never given a second chance, Reba was canceled when it had high ratings for no apparent reason and Aliens in America was canceled because of it's poor scheduling.

Most certainly, I know that I wouldn't cancel shows prematurely without a reason. I would cancel shows based on the facts of if it's popular, if the fans like it and if the fans can spread the shows to their friends. I judge which shows come and which shows go based on how they can promoted, how big of a fanbase it will have or has, based on how it can work in our schedule. I use my brains on the television. I don't randomly press buttons.

2. Taylor Karras knows how to schedule properly. Most of the shows have not been getting the ratings because of the way they're scheduled. Mostly One Tree Hill does not belong on Monday. It would belong on Wednesday before American Idol. The CW execs think that their shows can take on American Idol head on, but because of the lower number of homes it's on and the fact that American Idol is more popular then they expect. I take the time to analyze the schedule to see what will work on that day and what doesn't. It will make the schedule more watchable and more viable for advertisers. It will also give shows a chance to live on so that they don't die due to low ratings.

3. The network needs shows and it's new ones aren't sorta good and original. 90210 and How to Survive the Filthy Rich are directly based on Gossip Girl. My theory is that shows should have a bit of originality, should draw you in, wonder what will happen next and never let you go. I also belive that shows should end when they should end. An example for this is that Smallville has been renewed for 2 more seasons. The show has already jumped the shark and it has clearly ran out of ideas. They think because people watch the show means that the show can be milked and people would like it. It should of ended one season ago, that's my opinion. A show should end when it wants to end.

I also belive that Men exists and that the network doesn't have to focus specificly on Women 18-34. No. I think the network should focus on both Men and Women 18-34. So shows would focus on both the male and the female demographic. And if one show is focused on a female demographic, some males might like the show to. It's all based on who likes it really. I don't think the network is for White, Rich Girls. No. I think it's for everybody to enjoy and for everyone to watch. That's what a network is about, gathering everybody together to watch quality shows.

I also dislike the handeling of the network's comedy devision and such I aim to bring comedy back. Only sucessfully. Having learned from how they handel comedy shows. I will try to place the comedy shows where it fits best. Before a drama, after a drama, before a reality show, after a reality show, or inbetween some comedies. It's based on the genre of the show and how it'll work with other shows which'll give other shows some extra viewers, giving us an extra boost in the ratings. It is a win win for the network as it makes us more viable for advertisers. And unlike the current management. We will promote Comedies. We will also market the network better and market it so that people will be interested to see what the show offers.

I'm sure that I (Taylor Karras) and the people who sign the petition would wholefully agree that the network is in the dumps right now but I belive that a network doesn't have to die. I belive I can save it, and I have hope for the channel. You just gotta belive me.
