The New Paper - Chang May Choon's journalistic standards (or the lack thereof) |
To: Singapore Press HoldingsWe are a group of Singaporeans who are dissatisfied with the journalistic standards of Ms Chang May Choon, an entertainment reporter who works for The New Paper (published by the Singapore Press Holdings).
Ms Chang's reports often target celebrities, particularly (but not exclusively) Singapore celebrities. Her reports are often laced with negative opinions, sarcasm and irrelevant information, all calculated to dismiss and demean. However, while she considers her targets as unworthy of respect, her targets are often celebrities who are highly accomplished in their fields of endeavour. This petition therefore seeks to gather the signatures of like-minded members of the public in order to have an indication of the prevailing reader sentiment towards the journalistic standards displayed by Ms Chang in her reporting.
We welcome you to sign this petition if you feel that Ms Chang has been guilty of the following actions:
1. unwarranted mudslinging of celebrity targets;
2. getting personal (and not in a good way) with your celebrity idol in her report(s); and/or
3. lacking the professional ethic and journalistic integrity required to be a reporter with The New Paper.
We hope to hear from you.Sincerely,
