Reverse salary increases for Toronto city councillors |
To: City of Toronto councillorsThe City of Toronto councillors have abstained from voting on their own salary increases. As a result, their salaries have been increased in the interim. Our property taxes continue to rise as our public services are cut and our local economy is in ruins. They will now be earning nearly $100,000 while the mayor receives nearly $167,000. How is it possible that they can choose on their own what they earn without accountability to the voters? Evidently, our councillors are not acting in our best interests.
Sign this petition if you would like their salary increases reversed and would like to see greater accountability for our elected officials. How about an online grading form?
Sincerely,
