To the people of Warner Brothers, AOL Time Warner, Cartoon Network, MGM and Turner Entertainment.
We the fans of Tom and Jerry respectfully ask that you release the classic Tom and Jerry cartoons on DVD. Though the classic cartoons have been released on 2 DVDs, we are not given much. There discs are rather bare bones. We would like something else. Something that pays homage to the legacy of Hanna and Barbera, the influence that these cartoons have.
We the fans (particularly in the US), though appreciative of Cartoon Networks airings and the recent DVD release from Warner Brothers, feel like we are being fed scraps from a large banquet table. Other parts of this world have been blessed with Tom and Jerry on VCD, Tom and Jerry VHS releases on a regular basis, and just recently a DVD Box Set in Japan. We have only been given a few select classic cartoons, a few new cartoons, and nothing else.
We desire to see our favorite cartoons be given the DVD Box Set treatment in such a way that respects the cartoons and its creators. Therefore, we ask for the following treatment in regards to said DVD Box Set:
- All Hanna-Barbera MGM years (1940-1958) 114 cartoons UNCUT!
- The 1954-1958 Cinemascope cartoons restored to Cinemascope (Letterboxed)
- All Gene Deitch (Rembrandt Films) years (1961-62): 13 cartoons UNCUT
- All Chuck Jones years (1963-1967): 34 cartoons UNCUT
- All Hanna-Barbera (1975) 48 cartoons UNCUT
- Interviews/Documentaries with those involved with Tom and Jerry
- The history of Tom and Jerry
- Bios on those involved (animators, composers, writers, directors)
