Volkswagen Touran for US and Canadian Markets

We, the Undersigned, hereby petition Volkswagen of America and Volkswagen of Canada to offer the new Volkswagen Touran in the United States and Canadian markets.

For years, European car enthusiasts in the United States and Canada have purchased the current line. Now that the line has grown so has the enthusiast. The Volkswagen Touran would fill a segment that is missing is our markets.

Key important features of this new vehicle set it apart from others.
First the size of the Touran is small, about the size of the current Jetta in length. This allows great maneuverability and great gas mileage. It is taller than the Jetta creating more volume for more cargo. Additionally this allows the seats to be higher to have a somewhat van perspective. The second key feature is seating. The Touran offers seating for seven, a definite plus for the new generation of European enthusiast families. Third is price. This car should it come to our market would be priced between low to high twenty thousand U.S. dollars. Lastly Safety, the Touran is the safest car in it’s class.

There has been word that Volkswagen of America has other plans for the North American market. It will consist of two possible options. The first is bringing over a crossover vehicle that is based off the Volkswagen Golf, but a SUV. Although there is a market for such a vehicle, it differs from the one of the Touran. The second is a model that would be similar in styling to a Toyota Matrix or Pontiac Vibe. The European Touran as it is, is perfect for the needs of the North American market.

Many have said the there is no market for the Volkswagen Touran in the United States and Canada. I as do many others strongly disagree.
