No Monon Trailhead on Greyhound Pass

To the Town Council of the Town of Westfield, Indiana, and the Trustee and Township Board of Washington Township, Hamilton County, Indiana:

We, the undersigned owners of taxable property located in the Town of Westfield and Washington Township, hereby petition the town and the township to refrain from constructing a Monon Trail trailhead and parking lot at the intersection of the Monon Trail and Greyhound Pass, which is a residential street without sidewalks at that location, adjacent to two neighborhoods commonly known as Hills and Dales and Village Farms.

The location of the proposed trailhead and parking lot is inconsistent with the Westfield-Washington Township Comprehensive Plan adopted pursuant to Town of Westfield Resolution 07-06 on February 12, 2007 (the "Comprehensive Plan").

The trailhead and parking lot should be located at an alternate site on a major thoroughfare (as indicated in the Comprehensive Plan) where traffic, litter, maintenance, and loitering attributable to the trailhead and parking lot would have less potential to adversely affect the day-to-day activities and safety of residents and children in the surrounding neighborhoods.
