100-year old Bodhi Tree

To:  Everyone part of the Singapore community.

Hi.This is a plea for support in a cause to save a 100-year old Bodhi Tree at Bartely Road. The tree used to be part of a temple, but now that the land is returned to the Government, the tree faces risks of being cut down due to land development. This Bodhi tree is 100 years old and the oldest Bodhi tree in Singapore. We have lost much of our natural heritage to land development and it is time to seriously consider striking a balance between land development and biodiversity conservation. Consider this fact- Bukit Timah has a secondary forest, not a primary forest as we all like to believe, and think about the most common bird in Singapore to date, and you'll see we have lost much of our natural heritages. I regret that I would not be able to quote every figure and describe every detail here, for it will take to long to write this petition. Just a bit of the picture, try these links below.
