Port Trillian to Mac OS X |
To: Macintosh and potential Macintosh multi-messenger usersMac OS X has a distinct lack of good multi-messenger programmes. Those that are available have several problems:
Fire barely seems to have any one developing it.
Proteus, while being developed actively just doesn't have a very good feature list.
Adium—an open source messenger that, unlike Fire, actually seems to have a development community centred around it—unfortunately has stubborn developers who don't seem to want to do things to add extra functionality and are taking an incredibly long time to add necessary features such as file transfer status boxes!
The purpose of this petition is to show the makers of Trillian—a full featured multi-messenger available for the Windows operating system—that there is an active interest in porting Trillian to Mac OS X; something which they seem to come up with a myriad of excuses not to do.
Trillian is more advanced than any multi-messenger available for either Mac OS X or Windows, and the community of Mac users who engage in instant messaging will greatly benefit from having this software available to them.
Myself and many other people would have no qualms at all about paying for a full featured, good quality multi-messenger programme and with any luck this will show the developers of Trillian that Mac OS X development is not the dead end they seem to believe it to be.Sincerely,
