We, the undersigned, express our concern regarding the digging for uranium in the Black Hills in South Dakota. Cleaning up the 100+ open, abandoned mines and capping off the 4000+ uranium exploration wells before digging new ones would make a vast difference to water and air quality. The pulverized rock materials left behind are being blown and washed away by the rain into the water supply and the sir we breathe. The Cheyenne River is polluted because of the rock material. The Gross Alpha level is above the maximum contamination level and the uranium levels are about half. This must stop.

Please consider introducing a federal bill to declare a moratorium on any uranium mining in the country until all current abandoned mines and exploration wells in South Dakota are cleaned up and capped off. It is for the good of the residents of South Dakota and for the betterment of the country to introduce such a bill to clean these areas up for the radioactivity is being carrying to all parts of the country.
