Twitter,
Today, you released a change to the options with regards to @replies as detailed here: http://blog.twitter.com/2009/05/small-settings-update.html
To summarize, you have taken away the option to see all @replies from users we follow, regardless of whether we follow the users they were addressed to or not. For most users, this change will go unnoticed, as the option previously defaulted to only showing @replies to users we also followed. However, many of us changed this default value to show all of these @replies. There are a variety of reasons for this, but most paramount is the ability to join into conversations and debates going on with friends. This is part of what makes Twitter so great.
We ask that you please reinstate the previous option. If you believe it to be confusing to users, that is simply a usability issue. The functionality provided is highly valuable to us and a simple wording or display issue shouldn't stand in its way. We would simply like to keep the conversation going. Thank you for your understanding.
