City of Brantford, Drop the Injunction Charges |
To: All CanadiansWe at T.R.U.E. Two Row Understanding through Education, a Brantford based citizens' group dedicated to the building of bridges of understanding with our Six Nations' Brothers and Sisters, believe it is the responsibility of Canadians to stand up and protect the integrity of the Crown by demanding that politicians deal with Six Nations honestly and fairly according to the Two Row Wampum.
The language The City of Brantford as a neighbour of the Haudenosaunee has used when it files court documents in the name of every Canadian citizen asking that military force be used against the Indigenous government, is to call for Canada to be made into a state where military force is used against people who are asserting their fundamental human and constitutional rights.
In this petition we are asking The City of Brantford: to drop the injunction that prevents demonstrations on contested lands, for we believe it threatens public peace and safety and undermines the Rule of Law. Drop all charges against the land protectors, drop the $110 million in damages charge and insist that Brantford consult with Six Nations over further land development.
If Brantford is allowed to go through with the charges and injunctions it will set a president for all of Canadian cities to be able to do the same. In fact, Hamilton lawyer Michael Bruder, retained by several developers affected by the native protests made this statement in the Brantford Expositor on May 23rd, 2008, "All of my clients view this as being very positive and hope the City is successful, other communities will be looking at what Brantford is doing and your City will be a hero."
Sincerely,
