I am writing this letter to you on behalf of all the U2 fans here in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada that would like to see the biggest rock and roll band of all time play here in our city. We all were excited to hear about the last Vertigo tour which took place, but then sadly disappointed when we were not included on the first North American leg of the tour and even more disappointed to learn that we were again avoided on the third leg of the tour. We here think it would be very beneficial for U2 to play here for a number of various reasons. We have a brand new state of the art arena (MTS Centre) located in the heart of our city that would sell out within minutes. We showed U2 a a great deal of support during their stop to our city here on June 12,1997 for the Popmart tour. We were one of the largest crowds for that leg of tour and gave U2 the love and respect in which they deserved. We are located out in the prairies close by many places such as Saskatchewan where other U2 fans would be able to drive the 8 to 9 hours or so to come to the show. Traveling across to places like Vancouver or Toronto can cost upwards of $1000 or more for flight, hotel, vehicle travel etc, and sadly the average U2 fan out there can't afford this. We hope you will take this into serious consideration as Winnipeg wants U2. Thank you for your time in this matter
