Subject: universal cell phones, batteries, and power supplies
We the undersigned would like to make a law that would require all cell phone, battery, and power supplies manufacturers that work in conjunction with cell phones to be made compatible universal with one another and work with all cell phone carriers, their related networks and software systems, cell towers. Also to allow any persons to purchase a cell phone from any 3rd party and be able to use it on call cell phone carriers network and the alike and retain its current phone # without any additional charges from anyone. The only charge the individual should incur would be the normal monthly cell phone carrier charge for normal services provided. This is to work with all cell phone manufacturers and carriers worldwide immediately. Also there should no longer be a feature called locked or unlock as it relates to the operation of it on any cell phone carriers network. All phones from this time forward will only work with 1 or more Sims cards so no unlocking is needed to work with any cell phone carrier. So when you switch cell phone carriers you just reprogram the Sims chip as needed but still retaining any phone and contacts information for the individual. Or have a memory card installed on all cell phones to store the individual contacts, and any type of documents. Also all cell phones should come with a type of software that will be universal and completely translate any type of document created on a pc, Mac or a previous cell phone and allow you to completely use unrestricted in any way and have a adapter to be able to print right a usb printer.
That unsightly tangle of wires, black bricks and wall warts that supply your computer, printer, phone, desk lamp (and who knows what else) typifies a problem that plagues consumer society. Multiply what's at your feet by millions - that's how it is that a staggering 379 million discarded and obsolete external power supplies are destined to end up in U.S. landfills this year alone.
The planet needs -- single, universal power architecture for electronic devices. Such a standard could prevent hundreds of millions of power supplies every year from being tossed into landfills - maximizing resources, minimizing solid waste, and conserving energy.
Let your representatives in Congress and throughout the federal government know that the time has come for a green power standard -- that such a standard is in the nation's economic interest, and that it's an environmental necessity for the planet.
We would like to have cell phone companies to adopt a feature on every cell phone which will allow the recipient of any call, or text message to push a button on their phone to charge the call back to the sender.
This would put a stop to unsolicited cell calls that waste millions of minutes of cell time at the public’s expense.
